I'm slacking on keeping my running journal up to date.
Sunday was the perfect morning for a long run. I got up with the sun while it was still comparatively cool, strapped on my hydration pack and headed out for about 7 miles. I'm really missing my Garmin Forerunner. According to UPS, my replacement unit should arrive sometime Friday. Anyway, I figure I run a pretty comfortable 10 minute mile. I didn't map out a route beforehand. I just went out and ran some roads I was familiar with. I did a big loop and when I got close to the house I was pretty close to the 70 minute mark so I figured that was about 7 miles. I went in and mapped it out and it turned out to be 6.9. Not too bad. The temperature was perfect and I only saw a handful of cars the whole time I was out. I never felt like I was pushing myself to maintain a pace and was only uncomfortable a couple of times on hills. It was a good run and I'm still enjoying the long runs. I may have to try to start increasing my mileage soon.
Wednesday's run was 4 miles at a fairly fast pace. I did this run in the park and started and ran a course that I know from experience is exactly 4 miles. I've been using my cell phone to approximate my timing since I don't have my Garmin. I pushed myself pretty hard to keep the pace up since I didn't have any way to accurately gauge myself.
Sunday's Stats: I did 6.9 miles in approximately 69 minutes for a 10:00/mile pace
Wednesday's Stats: I did 4 miles in approximately 36:30 for a 9:07/mile pace
